Sensors
The sensor hardware is a critical part of the Gridata™ system, since it provides the raw data. Decades of development by third parties have created a vast array of interoperating devices, including temperature and humidity sensors, thermostats, occupancy and vacancy sensors, lighting sensors, as well as pool and security systems, thermostats, and others. Gridata™ has sorted through the landscape and maintains its pulse on the manufacturers to select the right device for the many applications. In addition, energy monitoring hardware such as smart plugs, smart appliances, sub-meters and smart meters are a key part of the equipment sensing ecosystem.
Besides sensing, some of these devices can also receive control signals, either to affect some type of remote control function, or to specifically affect their energy consumption behavior. The Gridata™ platform handles remote control functions as an integral feature.
